Our Story

Jeremy and I go camping and crabbing on the Washington coast with friends every year. The first year we went, Jeremy carved our names into a tree trunk that was on the beach. Last year, on our one year anniversary, we went back to our tree.

As we walked down the beach toward it, I'll never forget how Jeremy looked at me. He had this smile on his face and he just kept saying how beautiful I was (even in my dirty camping clothes!) and how much he loved me. I really did feel beautiful walking on the beach with him - it was like a fairytale. The sun was setting and the last of the rays were gleaming off the ocean. Gorgeous.

As we walked, he was telling me all these super sweet things; how lucky he was to be with me, how he's never felt like this about anyone, stuff like that. I couldn't help crying! As I wiped the tears away, I sat down on our tree and told him to stop making me cry! And that is when he got down on one knee, right in front of our tree, and asked me to be his wife. I was completely caught off guard, which only made me cry all the harder! I couldn't believe he had been planning this all along!

Of course I said yes...and then he surprised me again by pulling a bottle of champagne and a glass out of his backpack! I guess he knew I would say yes :) As you can see from the picture, I still have a lovely crab ruler around my neck!
